Lead Singer/Rhythm Guitar: Matt Clarkson
Hailing from South Charleston, Ohio, Matt Clarkson grew up with the sounds of classic rock legends like CCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Outlaws shaping his musical roots. At 17, he picked up a guitar with the guidance of his father, Scott Clarkson, and quickly developed a passion for playing.
By 2011, Matt was performing solo shows, and in 2018 he officially formed the Matt Clarkson Band alongside longtime bandmate Kelly Bush. Known for his natural rasp, powerful vocal range, and heartfelt songwriting, Matt brings a unique energy as the front man and driving force of MCB.
Outside of music, Matt enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife and their two boys.
Lead Guitar/Rhythm Guitar: William Dekle
Born and raised in a small North Georgia town in 1993, William brings that southern grit straight into the Matt Clarkson Band. Since joining in 2020, his Gibson Les Paul and powerful playing style have helped shape the band’s signature sound. Inspired by legends like George Lynch, Gary Rossington, Joe Bonamassa, and Warren DeMartini, William delivers the kind of riffs that fans don’t forget.
Off stage, he serves as a Firefighter/Paramedic and stays true to his roots—whether it’s watching baseball and football, hitting the golf course with friends, or spending time with his wife and two kids
Lead Guitar/Rhythm Guitar: Kelly Bush
Raised just outside Springfield, Ohio, Kelly is a founding member of the Matt Clarkson Band and a driving force behind its sound. Blending technical skill with a classic vibe, his playing—shaped by influences like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and David Gilmour—adds smooth tones and crisp leads that make MCB stand out.
Off stage, Kelly enjoys time with his wife, listening to music, golfing, and cheering on the Columbus Crew
Bass Guitar/ Back-up Vocals: Spencer Barnett
Spencer is a small-town Ohio guy with a big love for music. Coming from a family of musicians, it was only natural for him to pick up an instrument—or several. While guitar was his first passion, he’s found his groove on bass with MCB, saying, “It’s awesome to just get in the pocket and hang there while everyone does their thing.”
Outside of the band, Spencer enjoys the simple things—cold beer, sunshine, a round of golf with the boys, and quality time with his family
Drums: Ryan Fyffe
Born in Dayton, Ohio, Ryan has been behind the kit since the age of three. Over the years he’s also picked up guitar and stepped out front with his own projects, including his solo work and the band Azphalt Dazy. With his bold fills and go-big-or-go-home style, Ryan’s energy is a huge part of the live MCB experience.
When he’s not rocking with MCB, you can catch Ryan singing and playing guitar at venues around Springfield, Ohio. His influences range from Dave Matthews Band and Live to Counting Crows and beyond
